Product is not monetizing- The litmus test

Suggested time: 1-2 hrs.

We'll run a Monetization Litmus Test to check if it's ready to start making money—or if it's not quite there yet.

An outline of what a successful outcome from a litmus test looks like is included here for your reference. If your product doesn't meet these criteria, it's a good sign that we need to focus on understanding your customers' willingness to pay before moving forward with monetization.

Let’s dive building the litmus test and see where your product stands!

On completing this litmus test, there would be two possible outcomes derived from it-

  1. Your product cleared the litmus test – Great! This indicates product is ready to be monetized. You can now move on to the next section on Monetizing.
  2. Your product failed the litmus test – No worries! This just means we need to dive deeper into one key area of the litmus: Willingness to Pay. You’ll need to answer 5 critical questions to understand why your product isn’t quite ready to be monetized yet. Once you’ve done that, skip the next section on monetization and move on to building a substitute pricing framework for your product.

This approach will help ensure you're solving for the right things before moving ahead with monetization. Let's get to it!
